Mela & Drew's Unforgettable Wedding at Château de Saint Sixt in the French Alps
On the 19th of September 2024, Mela and Drew celebrated their love with a breathtaking wedding at Château de Saint Sixt in the heart of the French Alps. Their story is one of romance and adventure—Mela, a Swedish beauty, and Drew, a charming Australian, first met in the French Alps. It was only natural for them to return to where their journey began to say “I do.”
From the start, Mela and Drew were the epitome of laid-back. They trusted me completely, making the entire planning process an absolute joy. Our calls were always filled with laughter, and to be honest, I truly miss those moments now.

A Dream Venue: Château de Saint Sixt
The Château de Saint Sixt is a spectacular venue offering countless possibilities for a magical wedding day. Despite a foggy and cold eve, the wedding day itself was graced with stunning sunshine. This allowed us to host both the ceremony and the cocktail hour outdoors, making the most of the venue’s breathtaking surroundings. Working with the château’s owners, Marylou and Stéphane, was a delight. They were incredibly helpful, efficient, and genuinely lovely, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
A Dream Team of Suppliers
I was fortunate to collaborate with an exceptional team of suppliers who helped bring Mela and Drew’s vision to life:
● Photographer: Sandrine from Sandrine Philie Photography was inspired by the venue, capturing every magical moment with perfection. Her photos are simply stunning.
● Content Creator: Lindsay from Weddings Bestie added so much fun to the day. Her photos and videos are full of life and energy, reflecting the joy of the event.
● Caterer: L’Auberge du Pelloux delighted everyone with an incredible feast. Their team was exceptional, delivering flawless service and delicious cuisine from start to finish.
● Macaron Tower: Vanessa from UniCake created the most beautiful and delicious macaron tower, perfectly tailored to Mela and Drew’s wishes.
● Flowers & Decorations: Marie from Trait d’Emotions worked wonders, from the stunning ceremony arch to the exquisite bouquets, boutonnieres, and guest favours. Every detail was harmonious, transforming the venue into a dream setting.
● Makeup & Hair: Marine from Marine Beauty Artist made Mela look and feel radiant. Her expertise and reliability ensured everything was perfect.
● Photo Booth: Mathilde from Lamabox provided an incredibly fun addition to the wedding. Guests loved capturing spontaneous moments, and Mela and Drew now have even more wonderful memories to cherish.

A Day Filled with Love and Laughter
Mela and Drew wanted their guests to have an unforgettable experience, and that’s exactly what happened! The day was filled with heartfelt moments and joyful celebrations. From their intimate exchange of vows to Drew’s sisters taking on the role of “spirit girls” instead of traditional flower girls, every detail was unique and meaningful. The speeches were both touching and hilarious, the live music kept everyone entertained, and the energy remained high throughout the day.
Their first dance was nothing short of magical, setting the tone for a night of celebration and pure happiness. Seeing Mela and Drew completely immersed in their joy, worry-free and surrounded by love, was the ultimate reward for me. It was truly an honour to be part of their journey, and I will never forget this extraordinary wedding.
