A Love-Filled Affair:
Kelly and Mike's Intimate Wedding
In the picturesque surroundings near Toulouse, on the 2nd of September, something magical unfolded – the union of Kelly and Mike. From the first moment they contacted me in May, asking if I could coordinate their wedding, I knew it was going to be something special. The journey from that initial conversation to the joyous celebration was filled with sweetness, laughter, and genuine love.
An Intimate Affair
Kelly and Mike decided to keep their wedding intimate, with just 25 of their closest friends and family. It was a delightful experience for me as their wedding coordinator because, from the start, they radiated warmth and charm. Their decision to keep the celebration small allowed for a deeper connection with every guest, and I found myself feeling like one of the fortunate attendees.
A Day of Joy
What set Kelly and Mike’s wedding apart was their choice to start the day early. The ceremony kicked off at 12:00, creating a perfect timeline for their guests to relish every moment. The day unfolded with a cocktail reception, followed by a delightful lunch reception. This arrangement allowed ample time for everyone to soak in the joy and festivities throughout the day.
The Venue
The chosen venue, La Rivière Vacances, was a dreamy villa with a swimming pool and expansive outdoor spaces. I spent the evening before the wedding setting up the decorations, deciding on the layout for each space – ceremony, cocktail, and reception. The rustic and charming ambiance of the villa perfectly complemented the couple’s vision for their special day.
Weathering the Storm
On the wedding day, a bit of rain initially caused concern, but Kelly and Mike’s determination to have an outdoor ceremony prevailed. The cocktail area was moved inside, and lunch took place on the covered terrace. The flexibility and positive spirit of everyone involved turned what could have been a hiccup into a unique and memorable part of their story.
A Heartfelt Ceremony
The ceremony was an intimate gathering, including Kelly, Mike, their parents, and their daughter. One of the most emotional moments was when their daughter actively participated in the ceremony, especially during the sand blending ritual. It was a testament to the family’s bond and added a deeply personal touch to the proceedings.
The Dream Team of Suppliers
A wedding is a collaborative effort, and Kelly and Mike’s celebration was no exception. The caterer, Louisa (Farm to Table Kitchen), and her team delivered a delightful culinary experience. The celebrant, Mary-Jo (MJS ceremonies), created a moving and heartfelt ceremony, leaving everyone with a warm and unforgettable memory. The florist, Marie-Hélène (La Route Fleurie), brought bursts of summer colours to combat the rainy weather, creating a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere. Libby, a friend of the couple and a photographer, beautifully captured the essence of the day, freezing moments of joy and love in time.
Kelly and Mike’s wedding was a moving, sweet, and simple celebration of love. As their wedding coordinator, I feel incredibly fortunate to have played a part in their special day. Wishing this adorable couple all the happiness in the world as they embark on their journey of love and togetherness.
